WE BELIEVE THAT THE CONVERSATION IS RICHER AND MORE RESILIENT WITH YOUR PARTICIPATION!

In the world we live in, we think people are living more separate lives than they were 20 years ago even though current technology lets us connect with anyone within seconds. We’re surrounded by information yet not all of us receive the same facts and having genuine conversations with someone of different thoughts and beliefs is becoming a thing of the past. In the meantime, the uncertainties we face are increasing due to the pandemic, climate change, and economic imbalances, which are causing more anxiety and fear for lots of people.

According to science, when people get anxious they often develop a polarized worldview where things simply become good or bad, black or white, right or wrong, winning or losing. For anyone who adopts this view, loss takes on the sense that “it’s all over,” even before any outcome is known. Such an outlook of the world doesn’t capture the true reality of a situation because the systems that surround us -biological, geological, meteorological, as well as human-generated ones such as economy, democracy- are complex systems and we can’t just tinker with its parts -unlike fixing a watch- and know what the outcome will be. In order to navigate such complexity, one needs a holistic understanding of the problem before tackling it. For that, we believe that society increasingly needs to host inclusive conversations with more space for criticism and understanding.

“Conversations in Chaos” is a project created to remind this shortcoming. We create musical conversations that allow each musician’s voice to be heard and use the differences in vision and aesthetics in the service of creativity. We hope that our way of creating music is reflected in our performances and that it creates awareness for future conversations.
